Assessment and Consultation
I am able to offer one off or extended assessments to individuals (across the lifespan), families and organisations.
This may include onward referrals with your consent to colleagues and/or other agencies who may have the skills to best meet your needs locally.
All assessments and consultations can come with a comprehensive report including our shared understanding of the difficulties you/your family and/or relative or organisation are experiencing. There is a fixed price for assessments and consultations which will be discussed and agreed with you before commencing any conversations. It can be important to be explicit about the remit of an assessment only or consultation piece of work together so you feel satisfied with what has been agreed from the offset.
Examples of assessments/consultation could be:
1. To ascertain whether you or a loved one might be experiencing a mental health difficulty which requires treatment with private or statutory organisations. Signposting on how to access to explore options for this.
2. To have a better understanding of how an experience/s is impacting your wellbeing and relationships
3. To explore whether diagnostic assessment might be beneficial to you, your family or a loved one.
4. To assess whether therapy might be of benefit to you for a specific issue you have been considering accessing support for
I have connections with other professionals who have expertise and knowledge of different areas of need, including psychiatry, psychology and other specialist clinicians such as arts therapists. After assessment if you would like to explore options for support within Making a Change Psychotherapy services or beyond, I will endeavour to link you up with a person/organisation who I feel would be able to offer you what you might be seeking. After assessment or consultation there is no obligation to continue to work with me or anyone I signpost you to, the aim is to simply give you options for you to go away and think about.
